RECEPTION LOCATION: Kincardine Beach Pavilion ( Kincardine, ON  “These locations were very special and important to us. We fell in love walking on the beach in Kincardine, where Hannah grew up, and so it was so special for us to be able to celebrate our relationship here.” – J&H

PHOTOGRAPHY: Spirits Intrigued Photography (♥) ( Kitchener, ON “We found Alex at The Ring’s Wedding Expo very early in our engagement. We loved the artistic style of his outdoor photos. He was amazing to work with and shot our engagement photos as well. We would highly recommend him. It’s hard to pick a favourite part of our photos. Alex was able to get a lot of beautiful photos of us on the beach, but we also loved the candid photos of our guests dancing at the reception.” – J&H

BRIDES ATTIRE: Indochino ( Toronto, ON “As butch women, it’s often hard for us to find formal clothing that fits us well. Janine got a lot of compliments on her velvet tuxedo!” – H

BRIDESMAIDS ATTIRE: “We didn’t require our bridal party to wear anything in particular – we just asked them to wear something that they liked and felt good in. It was definitely the right choice – they all looked great!” – J&H

CATERING: Little Mushroom Catering (♥) ( Cambridge, ON “They were amazing! We wanted a vegetarian wedding and they created a delicious, filling buffet table with a variety of salads, pad thai, and lasagne.” – J&H

VIDEOGRAPHER: True View Productions ( Kitchener, ON

BIGGEST CHALLENGE: “Definitely the hardest part was trying to plan the wedding from two different countries with limited time together. With Janine living and working in Colorado and Hannah finishing medical school in Ontario, we had very limited time together, but we started early and powered through whenever we had an opportunity. A few months before the wedding, we found out that Hannah would have to move to Newfoundland to start her medical residency just a few days after the wedding. That added another layer of complexity, but we managed.” – J&H

BEST MEMORY: “As much fun as our reception was, we loved our ceremony. Because we had already signed our marriage license privately in Colorado a few months previously, we were able to have one of our close friends officiate for us on our wedding day. She wrote an incredibly beautiful and moving ceremony and we were both barely holding back tears by the end of it..” – J&H

ADVICE, ONE COUPLE TO ANOTHER: “Focus on the things that are important. It’s very easy to get caught up in the trappings of planning a wedding and there’s no shortage of people trying to sell them to you! What we (and everyone else) will remember is the time spent with family and friends many of whom traveled from as far away as Florida, Vancouver, Halifax, and Germany to witness our marriage.” – J&H
